AI replacing workers - Swedish book retailer, Adlibris, lay off some 130 workers to replace them with an AI robot.

Tech News Adlibris, which is a book and magazine retailer in Sweden, plan to install an AI robot in their main distribution storage. 130 of the 194 employees are getting sacked.





Their main storage is located in a small town named Morgongåva, with has around 1400 inhabitants. A sharp rise of unemployed people will happen in that small town.





 





I couldn't find any sources written in english, I guess Adlibris isn't a global scale news event.





But the topic, that AI replacing workers, making simple but honest jobs unavailible, increasing unemployment - that is something we might see more of. When AI is getting more advanced (and cheaper) greedy capitalistic businesses will replace most workers with AI robots. It is a dystopian scenario that very much can happen.
